So, I got mad and went off on Publix

I can't imagine a huge store like that doesn't carry Hanukah candles; I couldn't find any for my menorah. My own fault for putting it off til the last minute, yes, but out of the six stores I went to in my area, nobody carries them. I'm sure I'm not the only person in Pinellas Park that wanted to celebrate Hanukah by lighting candles on Sunday ( Read more... )

Wow! I know when I worked at Food Lion they had a crappy selection of Hanukah stuff, but then again they had a crappy selection of x-mas stuff. Mostly it was candles and some themed bakery items like cookies. Albertsons carried the candles year-round in their ethinic section. And the Pubilx in Tri-City usually had some with their holiday display section when you entered on the side closer to the card/dairy area. And of course the only reason I ever noticed was because I worked at the first two stores, shopped at that particular publix a lot and always noticed how small the tapers are. That and wished I had a holder for them because I like tapered candles but don't like getting the big ones because they always break on me. Yeah, I know I'm weird.

Still sucks that you weren't able to find them. I'm sure the deity understands and appreciates the intent.

Thanks.
I'm sure I could have found them at WalMart, but that is one scary store and I didn't want to go near it.
