Holy Hannah

My adrenaline is pumping like whoa. We were just outside having a cigarette before taking Adam home, and we hear some screeching tires, a loud bang, and two loud pops. As well as saw a shitload of smoke. We took off out to East-West highway, and there's a car accident. This kid snuck out, "borrowed" his brother's car, and managed to smash it on the way home. It was scary for a bit, because he was really upset and screaming (cause he was underage and afraid of his parents finding out), and the whole way down to his car, I was really really worried that someone had gotten badly hurt. I thought I heard someone shouting "Please God, get me out" or something like that, and I thought he had a passenger who was badly injured and stuck. Luckily, it was just him, and he was physically fine, just really shaken up, but jesus. Running down a fairly busy road (even at 3am), thinking you're going to find a huge mess when you get there...I'm actually feeling a little shaken up. I feel really bad for the kid; I know what it's like to get in your first accident. And the cop that showed up was all stern and shit, because he didn't have a license, and he knocked down a road sign. Poor guy was totally wigging out, and the cop's probably going to be all rahr about it. Some of my faith in humanity was restored, because several cars stopped, and this one guy actually turned around, got out, and was trying to console the kid. It was nice to see that people could and would stop to help out in that kind of situation. My brain's all addled. Thank god no one was hurt, is all. Whew.
