I’m writing a short report for my dear
nagaokagetora, who wanted to read fan reviews of VAMPS Europe tour.
I’m not able to write a proper and detailed report, but I will leave here my most precious memories.
I’ve always thought that the big difference between concerts I saw in Japan and overseas is how easy I got really near to the artists in the West. And not only in the show: I’m one of the lucky fans who got HYDE and K.A.Z’s autograph outside the venue during the irimachi. I’m so thankful they let us touch their arms and hands. This makes me feel how much they treasure fans. I can confirm the impression I had in 2012 in Japan: HYDE’s skin is a bit darker than expected. K.A.Z looked shy but very gentle with us. I missed completely Ju-ken and Jin :( but touched Arly, too. This closeness is the best thing about Western lives ^^
I like VAMPS fans. I met some of them and they were really really friendly! Spanish fans were way more organized than French in 2010, and thanks to them the queue thing went smoothly. A group of them also fixed things when it turned out that the security guys didn’t know anything about the early entrance tickets ^^; I shall thank particularly L. and M., who took care of me the whole day. I enjoyed the time spent chatting with them a lot. They were soo nice <3
We entered together and decided to fight for Ju-ken side. So we landed on first row! It was my first time! it was hard, but people around me were always concerned about my condition. How nice of them! There was almost nothing on the scene behind the stage and the sound was clear. Ju-ken was pure fun! He’s usually the mood-maker of the live, but with us had little work: we were already hyper-excited!! He was wearing the sleeveless shirt they sold in Japan and was always smiling at us. Someone threw a bra to him and he looked pleased XD He also threw a VAMPS towel as a gift to us, but I couldn’t catch it. I loved his black bass, the design was very cool. To me remains a mystery how he can play so precisely while headbanging heavily at the same time. Because of the lights I couldn’t see well Jin and Arimatsu, but they really didn’t come in the spotlight. K.A.Z was seldom at our side. He began the concert with sunglasses, but then he threw them away. He looked concentrated on playing guitar, but never forgot to smile at us ^^I could appreciate again his famous 360° guitar move. It’s really cool when he does it.
But I was drawn in mostly by HYDE. I think he’s the only man on Earth who can wear a jacket with sleeves in lace and still remain manly and cool. He had his glowing contact lenses on, too. The XIII sign on his body made him even sexier. He acted as the master of the stage, dancing crazily every time the songs allowed him to leave mic, enjoying music freely but at the same time having 100% of the stage under control. His voice sounded clear, despite at live it’s a bit covered by instruments. He sang all the “best of” album with English lyrics and new vocals, so even songs I’ve listened to at live like 4 or 5 times already sounded fresh to me. He tried to speak some Spanish, but sometimes audience didn’t get it immediately and went: eeeh? Huhuh was a really natural reaction, hope he didn’t get offended. He wasn’t scared when fans started to throw things on the stage. Besides the Spanish flag, someone threw a sheep plushie on the floor during HUNTING (nice choice!!) and he smiled amused. Then a blue tanga landed on his mic, so he pretended to eat it lustfully XD He threw guitar pics, water from his mouth, kisses to us XD was very cute and sexy at the same time. Ah I really envy people who could attend more than one live >< But I’m happy I could see Barcelona live. That was a blast!!! ^0^
At this live I felt how much VAMPS are striving to gain success overseas, but on the other hand I had the impression that the promotion wasn’t enough… I hope they reach their goals soon. Wishing for a quick recovery and a wonderful London live ^^
I’m sure they’ll add other lives besides Indonesia and USA. Hope this world tour will be a huge success. And wish for another wonderful world tour in 2014, too ^0^
