Grumpy musings about the MA special election

As I've mentioned in other venues, I dropped some money on Scott Brown's campaign the other day, primarily because (if he wins) he'll be Senator #41, and be able to put the brakes on the disaster that is the Reid/Pelosi Health Care Bill. She got in first and shouted the loudest. That's the only thing I can figure.

I don't like her, but I don't like Scott Brown either, so I don't know what I'm going to do next Tuesday.

I can't help you there, as I don't know what your objections to Brown are.

If you were socially conservative and worried that Brown is a "squishy" Republican (he's moderately pro-choice and seems to like Massachusetts' health care), then I'd point out that he's against the money pits*, which is more important this election than being ideologically pure. But I don't think you are.

Heck, I don't even know that you're against the money pits. ;) I only assume so, because they're so bad that I can't see anyone supporting them**.

*I've already mentioned the so-called Health Care bill, but there's also Cap and Trade, which is another big boondoggle.

**That's not true: Cigna and a bunch of the other insurance companies gave money to Coakley on Monday. There are obviously people who stand to gain; it's not like the money would be just disappearing.
