hey, what kind of research are you interested in? I took one science class in college and it almost made me change it all around senior year- 'AIDS and emerging infections.' I wanted to study epidimiology.
i'm in cardiovascular research (though i'm only a tech). most of our studies are funded by drug companies; they involve patients that visit before and after some kind of intervention, whether that be a medication, diet...etc. clinical biochemistry is not my favorite thing though, its just that this job was readily available, with opportunity for a free masters degree.
i would rather be in infection/immunity, but epidemiology is cool too. a lot of people here at this lab are really into that. my lab buddy is going to harvard next year for his PhD in public health. its a little heavier on math and politics, and definitely not as "science lab-ish", so that has it's appeal to a lot of people who don't want to be running experiments all day.
