Cruel Spin of Fate: Appointed Duty or Duty for Oneself - Day 1

As early as 6am Mie was already in the hall and checking her schedule but the schedule assigned to them would start at 8am, she was able to grab a coffee from the pantry and was now on one of the couch playing her DS.

Inoue and Aya sit beside her but before they can settle themselves they were paged to go to the head office of the training camp. They were given with additional information and update on the case they are currently handling.

After the debriefing they were told to gather on the 15LG where the arena and trainings are being held. All soldiers were already complete, Kim, Mie, Aya and Inoue were able to hear the soldiers being directed to their group members.

Each team are divided into 7 members consist of 1 girl and then 6 men. Each team would have a colonel and lieutenant colonel, then the rest of them are major. There were 4 teams total, Okada was able to see them approaching. Mie and Inoue tried to hide their faces using her baseball cap.

“Okada sensei, who would be my group mates and we needed to at least have one of us be assigned to where Yokoyama and Kazuya is” Mie asked in hushed voice “Gomen Mie-chan but group selection was made by draw lots and you would be in Ohno’s team” Okada looked at Mie apologetically then Inoue sigh and somewhat relief “what about me Sensei?”

Okada look for Inoue then answered “you would be with Yokoyama and Kazuya” Mie was worried and then asked Okada if they can be switched but Okada says it is not possible. Inoue give her a reassuring smile and says “I would take care of myself I promise” that is also the same time when Yokoyama along with Kazuya started a speech “well, well, well look what we have here girls are always late” then followed by Kazuya “sensei aren’t you going to give them a punishment rules are rules right?”

Aya tried to hold Mie’s gaze while Kim whispered to her to stay calm, Mie tried so she take a lungful of air and breathe out. Okada smiled and says “no, they are not late they were called by General Garcia” Yokoyama smiled then look at Mie’s direction

“You are too small to be a soldier who let you in?” then laugh along with Kazuya, Mei smiled sweetly at them and answered “Apparently I have been hired as a soldier not because of my height but because of my brains and not to mention my ability to wipe everything clean. What about you guys, who hired a lunatic and an idiot such as yourselves?”

Okada blow his whistle “That is enough soldiers go to your assigned team that’s an order” Yokoyama was all red like a tomato while kazuya is holding him back while glaring at Mie’s direction “I don’t like sharp tongue like you” Mie just answered them with a smug then Yokoyama says “Sensei I want that bitch to be in my team”

Okada shake his head “Inoue is the one assigned to your team” and give Yokoyama and Kazuya a dismissive look. Then he introduce Inoue to her team then faced Mie “ready to see them?” Mie just nodded Okada smiled “you’ll survive, I know you would” Mie just give him a nervous smile again.

Sho and Ohno was pacing in front of Toma, Nino, Jun and Aiba, they have been doing it for about 5minutes now. Aiba grab Sho’s shirt and speaks “Sho-chan can you sit down, we are getting dizzy already” Sho nodded and settled himself beside Aiba then whispered “I really have a feeling She is here” then they saw Okada sensei approaching.

“Colonel Ohno, I’d like you to meet the rose of your team Major Miyamoto” Sho and Aiba exchanged a meaningful look and stood up immediately to meet Okada and the girl halfway. While Ohno tried to assess the small girl behind Okada.

The Mie bow her head low and introduced herself “Major Miyamoto Mie, please to meet you all” then offer her hands. Ohno smiled and grab her hand but instead of shaking it he kissed the back of her palm and introduced himself “Colonel Ohno-” but got cut off by the Girl “smooth move Colonel Ohno Satoshi”

Then held out her hand and face Nino “Major Ninomiya Kazunari” then Jun “Major Matsumoto Jun” then face Toma and with a meaningful look, while recognition was all in Toma’s face “Major Ikuta Toma” then faced Aiba and Sho last “Major Masaki Aiba and Lieutenant Colonel Sakurai Sho” Sho and Aiba was shocked but still held out their hands for her to shake.

The Girl smiled wickedly when she held hands with Sho “I already know all of you” then face everyone “you set the score to beat on all the training here” then eyed Aiba “Not to mention the top team under General Kitagawa Johnny of Nagoya” everyone is shocked and don’t know what to say while Okada smiled because he is enjoying their expression then shake his head “and here is where I would leave you, by the way Mie-chan you would need to vacate the quarters and transfer to your team’s place”

Mie pouted “sensei -” Okada held up a hand and says “sorry hands tight, they needed those quarters for the lower rank soldiers who are also training under 18LG” then he called in someone using his communicator and a soldier handed her, her bag then Okada smile apologetically “Gomen ne Mie-chan” while patting her head.

Mie sighed and look so helpless, Ohno smiled then says “let us bring your things to our common room we still have all morning to get to know you” Mie just nodded and follow them. Toma not saying anything grabbed her bag, she is about to argue but when she noticed it was Toma, she bit her tongue and diverted her gaze on different direction instead.

They reached the common room Mie tried to familiarize herself with it. No one is talking so Aiba cleared his throat then stated “Mi- Major Miyamoto you can share room with one of us, it would be your choice” Toma offer his room “I can share my room if she liked I can stay here” but Sho stand up and stated with finality “She would be staying in my room” Nino, Ohno and Jun look up to him and they can see that Mie and Sho are looking at each other fiercely as if they are fighting just by looking at each other then Mie answered “Yes, I should share bedroom with you, Lieutenant Colonel Sakurai”

Then Sho grabbed her hand and dragged her all the way to his bedroom, all the other guys’ follow while Aiba grab her backpack. When they reached Sho’s door it was opened and immediately shut after they both got in. Sho pushed her to the back of the door then whispered with a growl “YOU explain yourself!” Mie chuckled and bury her face on Sho’s chest and hugged him.

“I missed you too” Sho shivered but hugged her even tighter “Sho-chan I can’t breathe” Sho still whispering “serves you right for not showing yourself for 2 fucking years” Mie chuckled again “I know you missed me but for now we need to open the door they might think things about us you know” Then Sho realized what he had just done then pushed Mie to bed “I wanted to hug Aiba-shii too”

Sho open the door then grab Aiba from the collar of his shirt and shut the door closed again “when Aiba was in the room Mie hugged Aiba and whisper ”Aiba-shii I’ve missed you” Aiba hugged her back tightly and asked “what are you doing here-” she cut him off “shhhh I’ll explain tonight so you should sneak in later with us” Aiba just nodded

“Let us get out of here before they think badly of us doing something not so nice ne?” Aiba put her bag on the bed then opened the door and the three of them marched out without a word and as if nothing happens. While the other four follow them Sho says “We need to get back to the Arena to see what activities we have in the afternoon”

When they get back to the Arena they were asked to get to know each other instead since they encounter a conflict of schedule with the other lower soldiers training course. They got back to the common room Mie were asked a couple of questions since all of them knew each other and she is the new one on the team.

Ohno asked “who among here do you know personally?” Mie eyed Aiba and Sho then to Toma “Lieutenant Col. Sakurai and Major Aiba knows me from back then and I know Major Ikuta from the academy, he is 2yrs older than me so he is my senpai” then Toma continued “we have been together until she left without a word and don’t know where to find her” hurt was evident on his voice and give Mie and accusing look. Sho and Aiba exchanged a meaningful look so as the rest of them “Good to see you too Toma-chan”

Then Nino asked “I saw it on your pocket earlier, what game do you play on your DS” Mie smiled “Dark Ares, you?” Nino smile and now with a giddy expression “Same! what level? And your character?” Mie thinks “just turned 65, assassin you?” Nino was now eager “Sugoi, I am only level 52, assassin too” Jun cleared his throat both Nino and Mie looked at his direction “Why did you sign up for the training?”

Mikee look up at Sho and Aiba “I guess theres no helping it” then both guys settled beside her “I-I didn’t sign up for it, we were chosen for it” then sigh “duty calls, at first they sent us here for combat training since the assignment they gave us is a bit complicated and it has something to do with hand in hand combat fight, after that case they absorbed us here and well the rest is history I guess”

Sho speak up this time “That is why you were missing for two fucking years without a word” Mie smiled sheepishly “Yes, and I know my family is going to be furious about it but I don’t have time to communicate to them as I said after my assignment they haven’t returned me to my HQ and was send here directly. As you all know outside communication is not allowed when you are just a cadet”

Aiba nodded “yeah that we know” Mie smiled at Aiba then take in a lungfull of air “last case we handle was one of the worst and we are not expecting to came out alive, upon accepting the case  we already accepted our faith so we just left without saying anything” Aiba put an Arm around her shoulder this time then tried to change topic.

“Any specialization in particular while you were here?” Mie smiled “Nope since I am able to tackle all area along with my best friends Major Sato Aya, Major Daidoji Kim and Major Mao Inoue” she darted her eyes to Jun who looked at her “I know you are familiar with Inoue, we shared secrets you know” she gave a playful wink at Jun who tried to opened his mouth but closed it again, which makes Mie chuckle “Now you know why we have been missing for two years, I trust you would find a heart and treat her fairly” Jun gave her a shy smile.

Ohno gave each and every one of them a communicator watch “alright can you all promise to work as a team and win on this training?” Mie smiled gleefully “Hell yeah!” then gave Nino a playful wink. Sho stand and says “alright back to arena everyone” she grabbed the watch Ohno gave her then grab her jacket “Ni-Lieutenant Colonel Sakurai can we drop the honorifics please?” Sho smiled but shake his head while Ohno nodded “Yeah it's hard to call everyone with all those, you can call me anything you like”

Mie smiled “Oh-chan, Kazu, MatsuJun, Toma-chan Aiba-shii, Sho-chan, you can call me Mie-chan or whatever you like” Sho smiled wickedly along with Aiba “Mie-chan it is” they stated it in unison, Mie can’t help herself and pout.

Toma smiled and whispered “Mine” Mie blushed and say “Mie-chan would be nice” then turn around and grab Sho to the door. Aiba put an arm around Mie’s shoulder who seem to don’t mind and teased her “Your boyfriend is possessive I can tell” Mie scowl at him and give him a jab on his rib “cut it Aiba-shii not funny”

When they reach the Arena everyone seem to settle down in a circle the also joined the circle. Mie started playing with her DS not paying attention to what is happening Nino on the other hand was watching her play.

Okada blow his whistle and says “settle down everyone I need to see how good your combat skills are” then eyed Mie “who would like to volunteer?” Yokoyama raised his hands while Okada eyes him “why am I not surprise, alright Yokoyama in front” Yu stand and then eyed Mie “I wanted her to be my sparring partner” Okada turn towards Mie, who is still busy playing.

Okada smiled “Good choice I must say, Miyamoto in front “Mie stand without looking at them and stand in front of Yu “alright you already knew the rules, once you are pinned down it means you lose” Mie still not paying any attention is concentrating in playing, Yu smiled at Mie. Kazuya even shouted “Make sure she can’t move her body” Okada looked at Kazuya and smiled “let the match begin”

Mie were just standing playing and as if nothing is happening, Yu is getting irritated and says “Not interested in fighting me huh?” Mie just snorted “I don’t care if you're a girl I don’t intend in loosing you know” Mie still ignoring him not saying anything when Yu kicked her DS and it flew from her hands.

Mie moved and kicked Yu to his chest and catch her DS in mid-air, eyes burning this time and Okada smiled knowingly while Sho and Aiba stand and say at the same time “Mie-chan” Mie look up to them and wickedly smiled then shouted “Kazu, keep this safe will you?” then throw the DS towards Nino. Mie looked at Kazuya then to Yokoyama who was now standing “Don’t you know it is rude to interrupt when I am playing?”

Yu smiled this time “It is because you are not paying attention” Mie smiled while removing her jacket “It is because you are not interesting” then like a flash of lightning Mie launch herself give Yu another kick in his chest then grab his hand twisting it down, while she is now sitting on his back and pinned him down on the floor. Yu realized he was just beaten but it was too late since he is unable to move and he is even having a hard time breathing because of the jab he received.

Okada give them a slow clap “Nothing less from Major Miyamoto of Osaka, that is why she is allowed to play whenever she wanted too Kudos!” Then Mie stood up and gather her jacket tie it on her waist then Yu tried his best to stand “You are going to pay for this, Okada a rematch” Mie look at him and smiled mockingly at Kazuya

“Your friend shouted to pin me down and make sure I am not able to move so I just did what he told you” then look back at Yokoyama and give him same mocking smile “That is one of the reason I am hired being a soldier, you got the picture?” then return to where she is supposedly seated and asked Nino of her DS.

“No rematch for today Yokoyama we also need to see other soldiers combat skills and you can even barely get up so stay with your group” Aiba and Sho whispered to Ohno and Jun “Rule number one never interrupt her when she is playing” then both guys nod when Jun heard Inoue who is seating a seat apart from him giggled along with 2 other girls.

“Another volunteer?” shouted Okada, this time it was Kazuya who raised his hand. Okada look up “Kazuya, I suppose you wanted Major Miyamoto as your sparring partner too?” Kazuya smiled “Yes if you please?” Okada was shaking his head “Miyamoto, care for another round?” Mie stood up again still holding her DS Okada shake his head “fight”

Mie is just standing at first then Kazuya tried to give her punch and kicks, but Mie was able to dodge every blow he would give her. Aya shouted “Mie-chan stop playing around” that was the only time Mie looked at Kazuya then look up to Aya “Sorry I thought I am asked to play with Monkeys” Kim and Aya laugh along with the other soldiers.

Mie put her DS back to her side pocket then smiled at Okada “what are we doing again?” Okada just laugh then Mie says “right, come on give me your best shot” Kazuya smiled wickedly then says “I thought you were never going to ask” Kazuya launch himself while Mie smiled wickedly “Better keep up” then with an ease move Mie also launch herself hold on to one of Kazuya’s leg since he tried to kick her then  put one leg on his shoulder.

They fell on the floor Mie locked kazuya using her legs and one arm twisted and faced down. Kazuya was unable to move then using her other free hand Mie tried to pull one of his leg and they heard a loud growl of pain Mie was all smiled while looking at Yokoyama’s direction “Ohh so cute I didn’t know a kitten can growl” a laugh from the crowd again, then Okada blow his whistle “Miyamoto that’s enough” Mie stopped and stood up “Sensei get those two out of my record”

Okada smiled then Mie continued “I was not informed I would be playing with babies, are you sure they passed their training here?” Okada shake his head “fine those two won’t count” Mie smiled again “I was able to set another record of beating two idiots please recruit more women so it would be off my record” Okada laugh “As you wish Princess” then Okada playfully bow while Mie give her friends a playful wink and answered “Alright, that would cost you one session of arm combat” Okada shake his head again “fine one combat session for all 4 of you” then Mie walk back to her team.

“You’re good” Ohno gave her compliment Mie pouted “I am not those two are just idiots” Sho put an arm around her “I didn’t know you can do it to Kazuya” then Aiba followed “Yeah, when it comes to combat Kazuya is good” Mie rolled her eyes “stop it you guys it's only upsetting me” Nino talked this time “Mie-chan they are telling the truth” Mie look from Nino to Jun who also nod “Kazuya is one of the best when it comes to combat” Mie shrugged “It didn’t feel like it though” then all of them laugh.
