Sorry (Chapter 2 of 2)
NEXT DAY
Just after practice, Yabu approached Inoo who was drinking his water. “Hey!”
“Hey!” Inoo smiled, a blush creeping.
“Listen, about yesterday.” Yabu said, choosing his words carefully.
“What about it?” Inoo asked cheerfully, though he really hoped that Yabu wouldn’t mention that topic.
Yabu’s heart is beating wildly as he tried to search for appropriate words. “I mean, what happened, I’m so sorry. It was an accident”
Inoo looked at the older member and let out a small sigh. “It’s okay, I’ve completely forgotten all about it” With that, he turned his back and was leaving.
Yabu’s face couldn’t be painted ‘how could have he forget all that have happened while it kept me awake all night?’ He thought.
Inoo stopped halfway towards the door to face Yabu again. “I’m sorry, I’m such a bad liar” Then he continued his way out of the practice room.
AFTER WORK, at a nearby park…
He lied to him. The whole thing had practically kept him awake all night and all sleepy at his history and math class. He stood at the middle of the Japanese bridge, looking at his reflection in the calm water. He sighed “I’m in love with him” He turned around and looked up at the moon; a beautiful sight, a crescent with two stars above, showing a smiling face. “But what good does it do to me? It’s not as if I can say it to him straight in the face that I like him. All I can do is watch over him from afar”
He is confused. What did that phrase mean? A bad lie, but what? “I like him but I guess I’m not good enough for him. All I can do is watch over him from afar” He said sadly as he threw pebbles at the river. He looked up to see the moon, then to the bridge where he saw him. A beauty looking at the most wonderful sight nature could offer that night.
He looked at the people around him, couples. He sighed for the nth time today “I’m not suited here” He started to walk away, making the other one panic. He went up the bridge “Inoo!” He called.
His heart skipped a beat when he heard his name called by the person he likes. He turned around to see him standing a few inches away from him. He blushed.
“Listen, the night is really beautiful. Will you share it with me for a while?”
He nodded and both of them settled for a bench facing the sight. A few minutes later, Yabu could feel Inoo’s head on his shoulder. He fell asleep. He smiled ‘he looks so cute while sleeping’ He placed his arms around the younger’s shoulder, also falling asleep.
He woke up with only him and Yabu as the two people left in the park. Yabu woke up when he felt someone moving from his side. “I’m so sorry, I fell asleep! I had lack of sleep last night” Inoo explained, Yabu staring at him. ‘So that was it’
Yabu smiled “It’s okay” Inoo smiled then looked up. To their surprise there was a meteor shower.
“Sugoi!” Inoo exclaimed. “Un, just like you”
“Eh?” Inoo looked at his band mate. Yabu bent forward to kiss him in the lips. “You’re such a bad liar, you know”
Inoo giggled then kissed Yabu in the lips too. “Gomen”
