On a more serious note, I was really interested in all the repetitions/doublings in Pacific Rim, so to name two big ones that structure the film narrative: 1)the return/refashioning of the Jaeger Program as "the resistance" and 2)trauma as the compulsion to repeat. I limited this one to Mako, but I could have done the same with Raleigh, I suspect.
But nevermind. ROBOTS. TALK TO ME ABOUT ROBOTS. AND SMASHING KAIJU.
