I liked X-Men and Captain America were the best comic book movies. Disappointed in GL because I love the character, but Ryan Reynolds is no Hal Jordan.

Ha, yeah. In this movie review site I frequent, Pajiba, they had this post about the rise and fall of Ryan Reynolds. They said he's got one last chance in Deadpool (?) to make it happen for himself, but he's probably not going to score there either and will always wind up in rom com territory. I was never compelled by GL, seemed like a hard sell to make that space opera into a movie. Idk, did you think it was Reynolds mainly who really kicked the bucket there or was the movie as a whole disappointing as well?

Well, the movie lacked in other areas - it didn't have the epic scope of a space opera. But a good leading man could have improved it immensely. Then, at least, it would be something I'd want to watch again.

Good to see you back. I'll keep on keeping my fingers crossed for everything.

And - you won't believe it - I went to see RHPS at the open-air theater. 3,000 people, 6 bikers, 1 fog machine and too many men in stockings to count. Amazingness.

Thanks a bunch! It's been really stressful. How have you been doing? I owe you an email to see what's up with your life now.

Re: RHPS--Amazing-ness indeed. I met a girl who was mentioned that her bf loved it so much he was pushing for an RHPS wedding. lol. I sent her the youtube of I'm Going Home when I left Japan, haha. I was kind of nostalgic about it the other day and thought maybe I should haul ass to SF to see it this Sunday or Sat. But Idk, I'm such a lazy ass. Sounds like the show you watched was awesome though. I've been having the theme all over my head these days. Science fiction ooooohh ooooh oooh...

Rise of the Planet of the Apes opened this week here, so I'm going to see it this weekend. I keep hearing good things about it as well.

Yeah the reviews I read all mentioned how pleasantly surprised the reviewers were. Everyone seemed to have underestimated it. Hope you like it! The indomitable Franco is in it, lol so that can't be bad. :D

He might be one of the reasons why I'm going to see it. ^^ Also, I saw the old version on TV when I was a kid and I saw the Tim Burton remake, so the prequel sounds like a good idea (and more innovative than other prequels).

Dude I just can't believe he'd getting another degree from Tulane, where the hell does he get the time I don't even...

I've never seen the originals. I did see the Burton remake and I know everyone hated it, but Marky Mark has always had a special spot in my heart and that's not even one of his bad movies so I harbored no ill will towards it. I recognize it's kind of less serious that the rest of the movies though. That's Burton for you.

That said, I agree, this one looks pretty epic and pretty original too!
