Oh, Monkey! I'm so sorry to hear that. I wonder what the underlying issue is? Are the cats at your old place, or w/you at your mom's? Sometimes pets really feel it when there's disruption in their lives (such as moving), but I know he's been at this for a while...

Congratulations on the quick progress with the house though. If things are comfortable at your mom's and there's no rush to go, maybe holding out would be beneficial, especially as the high Summer season comes to an end... You might have better bargaining in the off-months when there are fewer people looking to buy.
