Why are so many people stupid? Do we breed them special in the United States. Like today at work a business customer is in bad standing with the state. When the bank finds that out we begin the process of closing the account. The first thing we do is let the customer know that they need to get in good standing or the account will be closed. "This doesn't make us ignorant and stupid ... " I wasn't referring to anyone specifically unless you were the person that I was talking too earlier in the day. I just thought your use of "us" was unusual.

I agree that people can't know everything, that's fine. I don't know everything ... but please, some people are just stupid. It's mean, it's not nice, but neither am I.

I love when I call my tech support line and they first have to ask if the computer is plugged in and/or turned on. That's common sense stuff no one should have to call a tech desk for it. But they do. Scary.

No doubt... When you figure you're "average", you're still better/smarter than 130-150 million people.

I'm not against berating utter stupidity (the elitist in me comes out), but sometimes you want things to work. I'm not against calling my plumber or lawyer when I'm not sure about stuff. People call me because I know more than they do about IT stuff..

I think in the end, we may spread stupidity to other areas... but definitely some people are "challenged" more than others. :-)
