Did you put Duke's Mayonnaise on the bread? Apparently in the South, that's required.

Never heard of Duke's, but I did use Hellmann's

I think it's a Deep South mayonnaise. I don't know that I've seen it north of Hampton Roads and have never bought it.

yes, I stopped buying them altogether at the grocery store 5 - 6 years ago. I was just tired of always being disappointed by the lack of flavor and mealy texture. I would rather not have them at all, then have substandard ones.
