Ah today's events

Well, Rob and I went shopping today. Picked up one of those humane mouse traps. If we catch the little guy, I plan to put him in a cage until it warms up. It's too cold to let him go outside right now. We picked up Tristan's medical records to transfer to the new pediatrician. And he took me out to buy my camera. That's pretty fucked up. Don't forget to call the other kids parents too! Maybe you'll get lucky and get one that doesn't know their kid it a nutjob and will actually tear into them about it! But these days, most parents just don't seem to care.

Remember when "it's just a phase" meant you liked horror movies in elementary school, or were a tomboy/effeminate, or just didn't have a lot of friends? Now it means, "our kid is Charles Manson, but it's just a phase".

It's just a phase, huh? So why is it that you and I never killed anyone or shot up a school? Hmmm, is it because we got our asses busted for the stupid shit we did?

That's what I'm sayin'? Kids (and parents) today are a bit skewed. You and I are that last bit of age bracket that say.."uh...NO...BAD!". Younger parents think EVERYTHING is a "phase"...(as do sheltered parents who never went through any actual phases of their own and therefore can't recognize a "phase" vs. a psychotic episode.)

Yeah, oh, speaking of liking horror movies at an early age. Bishop doesn't. LOL, he told me that he wanted to watch a horror movie when he was 7, so I said okay. I popped in Shaun of the Dead because I'm not actually cruel enough to show him the Texas Chainsaw Massacre or Dawn of the Dead remakes. He got half way through it and couldn't finish. The next week he wouldn't go near the sliding glass doors at night and was very concerned about our "zombie action plan". He hasn't asked to watch one since.
