A Doctor Who End of Time - Part Two review...

Caution, I ramble on a bit...okay, a lot.

RTD's take of the Doctor Who in the past has always been able to made me feel something. Whether it was heartbreak as in The Fires of Pompeii, uneasiness as in Midnight, nostalgia for School Reunion or fear as in Blink.

However, after watching The End of Time-Part Two, this was was first time I felt anger. )

At first, my opinion of what a time lock was is more like... something that is put into place after an event has occurred which prevents people from other time periods from coming into it. So, yesterday I got my hair done, I time lock that time period, and no one else will be able to prevent the sequence of events from happening. Not me. Not another time traveler. The events are "fixed in time ( ... )

The consistency geek in me went "ARGH!"

Yep. That was me as well.

I only hope that Moffat is one of those type of writers that actually takes notes. I am not looking for LOST levels of note taking. (They have one person on staff whose only job is to make sure that the right person has the right gun at any given time in the script. As in, preventing the "Wait, I thought Sawyer had the Glock in the last episode? What happened there?" mix-ups from happening. One single person.) But it would be nice to have some consistency.

Knowing Moffat's work, I think that he does strive for a level of consistency in the technical aspects a lot more than RTD did. This is because Moffat's work tends to explore ideas and plot over emotional and character development. It's not that his work lacks emotional and character development, it just takes a back seat. There isn't as much willing suspension of disbelief required since he tries to get all the puzzle pieces to fit...

...although he is ok with a few loose ends here and there to provide hooks for other writers to continue his stories.

1. I haven't seen it yet I might not even be able to make myself do it until we're well into 11s run.
2. Awesome comic.
3. Well at least we still have the Rani. Oh wait, that's only my version of her in my story.

Still haven't seen it. Can't seem to make myself. Not sure what I'm worried about. Maybe I'll watch it when I go over to Kelly's to learn how to knit.
