To pass the time...
It's been a long time since I've posted, and much has happened.
As most of you know, the last week or so, I've been pretty distracted by my Brother's medical condition.
For those of you who don't know (which is only one or two of you):
My brother has kidney cancer, and we only found out for sure last friday
The tumor is the size of a soccer ball, and has tendrils spreading out inside the blood vessels. (we were afraid they might reach back to the heart, but fortunately, that doesn't seem to be the case)
Surgery is scheduled for next Tuesday. Dale checks into the hospital at 6AM, and surgery should start by 7:30.
Surgery will take between 4 and 7 hours, and then we will find out much more about what happens next, since they have to analyze the tumor after removal to decide what course of treatment to take.
I've also not talked much about work, because the only real big issue I'm dealing with there, I can't discuss due to confidentiality issues. :(

Off to figure out how to help my brother kill time between now and then.
Anybody have good ideas on how to teach a 22 year old how to program who always dreamed of doing physical work, but now can't?
