I have laryngitis

Lost my voice over the weekend. Couldn't phonate AT ALL yesterday. Robbie called my principal to say what I was typing. She told me to call in sick and go to the doctor. Contacted the ENT (Ear Nose Throat) office in Lawrence to request Dr. Reussner, who is the voice specialist. Got in to see him today; I expected to be at the office for like 2- ( Read more... )

First, what does 'phonate' mean?

Second, you must eat at Spangles. That place is the bomb. They are headquartered here in Wichita. Try the 'ham, egg, and cheese sourdough' for breakfast, or the 'sourdough turkey, bacon, ranch sandwich' for lunch. There is not much on the menu that is not good.

Phonatation is when your VOCAL CORDS produce sound. IE: Sing, scream, talk, laugh. Whispering does NOT count, because when you whisper your vocal cords don't vibrate.
