I emailed my principle an ultimatum today. "Student X is not allowed in my classroom anymore unless there is a para with him/her." And I explained EVERYTHING this child did...
t has been a very long time since Student X has had an "ok" day in music class. Today was not a good day behavior wise, especially in regards to his/her behavior toward the teacher (me). Calling music "stupid" is fine by me, but when a student starts blowing raspberries at me, sticking out his/her tongue at me, vandalizing my room...that is NOT okay. I gave Student X the choice of going into time out or sitting back down in his/her chair and he/she said "Nope" to both those options, so then I had Ms. W. escort him upstairs to Mrs. W.'s room. He/She came back down during the very end of class so I could fill out his/her behavior chart. I wrote
"Student X has had a hard time respecting his/her music teacher today." I gave it to him/her and then he/she took a pad of paper off of my file cabinet and threw it on the ground. I informed Student X that he/she couldn't leave until the pad of paper went back to where it was, so he/she picked it up and put it back. Then we walked over to the office to get him/her his/her meds, and he/she threw his/her chart on the floor and walked off. The sub asked Student X to pick it up, and he/she did. While at the office, Student X crumpled up his/her paper and started ripping it up in his/her mouth.
Student X said "No" to me when I asked him/her to stop. I decided I was done dealing with Student X.
