Ambitious Drudgery...

Summer is upon us -- though the weather isn't so sure about that. We'll be lucky to break 70 today, not that I'm complaining! :P

The kids are finally out of school, and we are enjoying the fact that we don't have to drive up and down the hill and into town numerous times a day!

I love having chickens! They are family pets, and they always come running like little ducklings whenever I go outside. It is hilarious! :)

Oh yay! Good planning with the crafts. If they're into it, set them a collaborative task of writing a story together over the course of the summer. Or have a reading race to see who gets through the most books. (These are absolutely things I am still doing as a "grown up")

Hope you find your coffee soon.

*hugs*

I was actually considering if maybe we should read Little Women together. I have three daughter, I might as well make the most of it!

My kid often write stories. Together and separate. One of their favorite games is storycubes. It runs in the family, making up stories.

(Cold coffee was found, discarded and replaced! Yum!)

Quickest way to end the "I'm bored"refrain is to say, "Well there's(insert chore), you can do that if you are bored. It's amazing how fast they can find something to do after that. :¬D

Nice chickens, are they layers, or just pets?

Both! We have five hens. All lay, though one is super broody and driving me batty! They are all very tame and easy to handle. :)

As far as the kids, I just kick them out of the house or say that I have no desire to hear their whines and that, as such, they are welcome to whine their hearts out in their bedroom. I have no sympathy! It is only Wednesday in this, their first week of summer break! Give me a break! LOL!

Chickens for pets? I'm such a city girl. But, it is kind of adorable.

Sorry you are already hearing the "I'm bored," whining. I'd offer to send you mine in exchange, but since mine are doing the same, I'll let you keep looking for somewhere you can trade up instead of across the board. If that exists. I think summer boredom is universal.

After all that work, I think you need a rest.
