It means unconfined, or unrestrained, or untethered. It strikes me as a kind of odd word to use here. At first blush it seems to mean somebody who is forward thinking, a creative person who can think outside the box. But it could also mean somebody who doesn't like to have a job. Or somebody who wouldn't like being married.
