Mel, I really love that you've posted yet another chapter. A fic about the NZ years is a huge undertaking, but you've managed to capture all of the little details (even if I miss some myself when reading. :P)
Love how you alluded to "Communion" without wonking us over the head about it and love the mention of the rush to finish. And speaking of wonking, give Viggo a bonk on the head for woolgathering about Orli. (It's nice to see a secure Orli)
I think Viggo's poetry historically is where all his insecurities and angst come out to play. Even when the guy is happy he is writing depressing poetry. :P
And Communion has been alluded to in almost all the chapters so far, somehow. In this one I also worked in Trague.
Viggo's always woolgathering. Artists are good at daydreaming. ;)
And I don't mean to make Viggo sound too insecure. Just that he tends to overthink sometimes, and the wind blowing away his words, which he thinks are very permanent, sort of jolted him back into remembering that whatever will be, will be. :) Orlando is very secure because he's so young, I think, and is a little naive about how his life will change even though he wants to be a star.
Anyhoo, thanks for the feedback and the first comment. I can hardly wait to kiss this puppy goodbye. Can you believe when I first conceived of it, I was going to write it all the way through present day??? o.O
no :( but our post is crappy in general, not to mention the holiday season... maybe they are just slooooow *is hopeful* did you get mine? it was more of a letter than a package
hooray! new chapter of dirl! and it was perfect. somehow, the fact that you've now been "down unda" adds credibility for me. and the mattress pads you're dead right on. L used to always tell me about freezing cold winter mornings in AU... and the sex was nice too. *sigh* although i'll be disapointed to see dirl end, i'm very excited to see your new work. you're the best mel. ♥
It was not until the third day of being at the bottom of the South Island in early spring that I caught on to the fact that the mattress pad heated. LOL. I had spent a couple of nights sleeping in my sweats and cashmere hoodie under several wool blankets! LOL.
I can still remember first finding this fic. It was one of my favorites then, and still remains so. All I have to do is see the banner to drop everything I'm doing to read!
Thank you so much for continuing it and sharing it with all of us!
