Weekend Review with dolly stuff.
Saturday:
It snowed! I got up early and tried to finish an outfit for my Twingkey. Couldn't get it done in time for the meet so I took my two bigger girls and ramiel instead. Saw Ptwinny and her daughter at the meet with their lovely dolls. The site was better than dolls and friends - less crowded feeling despite having more people and I only felt a bit of anxiety. Saw lots of dolls and sale clothing. I was still too shy, but i'm starting to recognize some of the faces. I finally bought Isabet a pair of black heeled shoes - they are not high quality but will work until I find a pair that I fall in love with. And I also bought a dollheart outfit from Jpops on sale, this one (from her site):
It fits Isabet perfectly and she looks so wonderful in it - better than the stock picture, I'm just thrilled to find an outfit that works so well with her. Now I just need to purge out the sewing room to make a display area.
I kind of wished bjd's meets were more like the blythe or pullip meets. Like outside of talking to Ptwinny and her daughter, I don't know wtf the other collectors are talking about. Seriously. It's all terms and stuff that even after two years in the hobby I haven't a clue what they are saying. I just smile, nod my head and feel weird. The P & B meets are usually more social, people talk about things outside of dolls. Maybe it's a space thing too.
After the meet I headed over to Haps house where we exchanged xmas gifts. She made me this amazing - I don't know the word for what it is? It goes under my sewing machine and has all these pockets to hold things. And it's made with one of my favorite fabrics ever, the Amy Butler apple print. I LOVE that fabric so much. She also made me an apron that I think i'm going to use for sewing as I move around the house I need pockets to hold little things, including pins which I usually stab through my clothing while working - I also serge while standing up so i'm a bit weird. She got me a rement set that has the mushroom lunchbox, it's so cute! Lip gloss, a note book. Lots of cute and adorable things. Funny enough we used the same xmas paper.
I then headed home and watched White Christmas with the family.
Sunday:
Made a but load of cookies. Seriously I think I made 6 or 7 batches of cookies. So many cookies. Including paintbrush cookies which are SO much fun. Bean really got into painting on the cookies, and her 'gingerbread' men came out looking like Picasso did it - no sterotypical xmas cookies in this house! She was rather proud of them. We then crashed out watching A Christmas Story and Scrooged. Because 'scrape them off Claire' is one of my favorite quotes.
