I was going to sort out all my pictures of the disaster when I got a chance tomorrow, but this one made me so sad that I wanted to post it tonight, just to say goodbye for the last time. This is the spot where we found Hobbes. After seeing the perfectly-formed sooty outline of her body, I can't stop the tears running down my cheeks.

very sad - especially strange for a chameleon whose nature is to be terrified of cats - but even my beady bulging eyes managed to shed a tear or two.

Thank you - the thoughts are much appreciated. I thought I was so hard-hearted and callous, and then I saw the pic and I just cried bitterly.

That is horrible, it looks so tragic. Poor Hobbes. What happened to your other cat?

Smeagy must have fled early and hidden somewhere, and he came back a few hours after the fire. We then scooped him up into a box and he's now at my dad's place, where he's lying around like Lord Muck and miaowning loudly for food all the time. :)
