Neverwinter Nights 2, Part One

Nov 14, 2006 13:47

I've just finished the Neverwinter Nights 2 official campaign. That's one of the reasons I haven't been around on LJ much since Thursday - I even decided to give up my post-once-a-day-during-November plan in order to play. I haven't read my email or my Friends page for a good couple of days now - did anyone say addiction ( Read more... )

With NWN, I found that I had any spells I used frequently quickslotted, otherwise I wouldn't use them at all - the radial menu was just way too painful. So, yes, I agree that NWN2's spell-casting is much, much easier. I also like queuing up actions in a particular target, whether it be offensive spells or buffing; it never worked well in NWN.

I did all the side quests that were offered to me, although I didn't do any for the couple of party members I didn't like and didn't take out with me, heh. I played pretty much continuously from Thursday morning to this morning, so it was five days. You know what I'm like when I get obsessive. :)

How far are you? Which characters are you playing? I want to go through with either a sorcerer or a warlock (I had a great time with the warlock you get later in the game).

I used to run out of slots on the quickbar, especially if I was playing a sorcerer, and it would really vex me. I rarely used my lower-level slots because I had no space for them on the quickbar and I was too lazy to go to the radial menu (especially when playing multiplayer). Ah, it's so nice to have that lovely quickcast menu in NWN2. :)

I found the first part of the official campaign to be quite dull, so I'm having some difficulty starting it again.

You're right about the warlock - they're really one-trick ponies. I think they're a fun class, but I would get bored doing nothing but versions of Eldritch Blast throughout the entire campaign. Vitriolic Blast and Devour Magic are great when you get them, but still. I'll try a warlock when some decent modules come out, but not through the whole OC. I think, for me, sorcerers and wizards are more fun to play for extended periods, especially without rest restrictions. Actually, I just want to get the cute cat familiar. :)I'm considering taking a chaotic character through and joining the ( ... )
