A new chapter

Ten years and nearly five hours ago, I married a man I thought was the great love of my life. And it is true that we were in love, for a time, anyway. Enough that I thought we could weather what life threw at us. As time passed, however, we grew at much different rates and our differences became greater than our similarities. When my divorce became final I thought I'd be fine - perfectly fine. A close friend wisely had dropped off a grocery bag that was waiting for me on my doorstep when I got back from court. It had a 2 liter bottle of coke and a 5th of rum. You were married a long time, you had a lot of dreams that didn't happen. And finalizing the end of a relationship can feel a little bit like a failure.

The next morning I was fine, and from the sounds of it, you are too. Hope to see you again soon.
