Mathematicians are weird

So we get quizzes handed back to us in senior seminar yesterday. Apparently the prof made a mistake writing one of the questions. She meant to ask "What are the central vertices of this graph?" She actually asked "What is the center of this graph?" Turns out every single person except one answered the question she meant, not the question she ( Read more... )

Yes! Mathmeticians do communicate on a common wavelength, one that is very, very well encrypted, and doesn't seem to have much to do with hair length. It's the mark of a good professor that she accepted the one kid's answer (he's a computer engineer, not a mathmetician, if he answered that way), and an even better sign if she gave him extra credit for it. :-3
