WTF 2016? Now Carrie's dead. This year has gone -beyond- sucking ass!

Finally back home. 11 hours on the road [for what is usually a 7 hour trip] = terrible traffic with utterly no cause to be seen: no accidents, no -reports- of accidents, just people driving terribly and stopping in both directions [like DEAD stops] for no discernible cause. Complete WTF driving.

It's the first year visiting family 400 miles from now-home, where the 'traditional huge family home' was not available, so we are at a hotel for the week. It's a nice place with a HUGE pipe, so I have spent the whole time downloading games from Steam that I've had purchased for *years* - but not wanted to devote the days [instead of hours] it ( Read more... )

Saw 'Rogue One' and liked it a great deal. Reasonably solid story - albeit one that relies on the Force to knit its coincidences together. I enjoyed the characters and am planning to see it again.

Am getting over a young-child-vector throat virus of some sort that hit and took 2 weeks to recover from. Other than fever and misery, the weird thing about this illness was - even though there was nasal congestion - my sense of smell did not decrease. Glad to be healthier now. Spent the day cooking for Thanksgiving and reading the archives .. giggling.

On the non-smile end of things, I've been sick for a week, but starting to feel better. Came down with a SORE throat last Monday, so didn't want to infect BASFA. Throat was scratchy/sore through until Saturday and I'm only now feeling on the mend. I still feel sleepy [or am sleeping] for far too much of the day ( Read more... )
