So... I randomly wrote a story. I was bored and felt like writing. It's not very good, but it was fun to write again since I really haven't since university. I debated for a while whether or not to post it, and decided to post it anyways, even though, like I said, it's not very good. I'll explain my inspiration afterwards....
The party was loud. There were more people in Jenny’s house than it should have been possible to fit. I scanned the crowd, seeing if there was anyone I knew. That’s when I spotted him. There was something about the way he moved. I couldn’t put my finger on it but it was… different. Almost like space and time were irrelevant for him. We were in the same room, yet, while I could barely stand still without bumping into someone, he seemed to weave in and out between the people like an obstacle course. And no one seemed to notice him; no one except me.
“Are you ok?” I hadn’t realized I was staring.
“Yah. Just saw something… weird. Who is that?” It was Jenny’s party so I figured she’d know everyone there.
“I have no idea… probably one of Mac’s friends. I told him he could bring whoever he wanted.” Mac was her boyfriend. “Are you sure you’re ok? You look…. Funny.”
“I’m fine. Really.” I turned to smile at her reassuringly.
“If you say so.” She shrugged and walked away.
I turned back to where the strange boy had been before I turned around, but he had disappeared. I had only turned away for a second but he was gone. It seemed impossible. Maybe I had imagined the whole thing but I couldn’t shake this feeling in the pit of my stomach. I couldn’t think clearly in this overcrowded space so I pushed my way through the people towards the back door.
The cool spring air hit my face and sent a shiver down my spine. I was grateful for a few moments alone to collect myself. I convinced myself that the punch had gotten to me and that there had been nothing unusual about the boy at the party. I stood there for a moment in the dark trying to clear my head. The sound of a branch snapping made my breath catch in my throat. I hesitated, trying to quell the fear, and then turned around to see the boy from the party standing a foot away from me.
“Hi,” he said awkwardly.
“Hey.” Out here he didn’t look strange at all. He looked like a normal teenage boy standing in the dark.
“I’m… John.” He seemed nervous.
“Lily.” He took a step closer to me.
“Pretty name.” Actually, he was kind of cute.
“Thanks.” And another step. I was frozen in my spot. My mind was racing; the instinct to run was overruled by the butterflies in my stomach. I had never been in love before and wondered if this was what it felt like. Love at first sight. I questioned if this was really happening as he took one more step towards me. I could feel his warm breath on my forehead.
“Do I scare you?”
“No.” My heart beat was like a bass drum in my ears.
He reached his hand up and brushed my bangs behind my ear, his touch sending a tingle down my spine. Then he leaned in slowly, cautiously. My first kiss, I thought. He kissed me until I was gasping for air. Then he turned my head to the side and I felt his breath on my neck. His lips grazed my neck - staking their claim. He pulled his head back slightly and smiled at me, a glint in his eye, and then focused on my neck again.
The party was loud. No one heard my screams.

Inspiration: So anyone who has read/seen Twilight could probably guess that it was my inspiration, but to my credit, I wrote stories about vampires long before I read Twilight. Better stories, but stories nonetheless. Also, in Twilight, she knows he's a vampire and he doesn't just bite her and kill her, which is what happens at the end of my story... anyways, that's all... nothing ground breaking here, just good old fashioned vampire fun.
