Who has two thumbs and Bell's Palsy? This gal! Although it's considerably better than a stroke, which was my first fear response to "oh god, the left side of my face isn't working." It came on Thursday, but wasn't all that dramatic until Friday, when I could no longer coax even the slightest bit of movement out of half of my facial muscles. And ( Read more... )

*hugs* Let me know if there's anything I can do from all the way far away here.

Also, I think the fwappaccino would sound hilarious, and I hope it gets better soon.

OMG, I just realized that Bell's Palsy puts me one step closer to Sherlock Holmes in a bizarre 6 degrees of separation.

DUDE.

I hope it gets better soon!

My favourite reality TV contestant ever (shh yes I have one what of it), Max Crumm from Grease: You're The One That I Want (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grease:_You%27re_the_One_that_I_Want!), had Bell's Palsy as a kid. Then he went on to star on Broadway and become my favourite reality TV contestant ever. Thus, I conclude that your indisposition will only temporarily interrupt your inexorable trajectory of awesome.

I think that's the nicest thing anyone's ever said about my freakish facial paralysis.

Oh god. *Hugs*

If they haven't already checked, also ask your doctor to check that you don't have Lyme Disease (since Bell's Palsy can be a complication from Lyme and doctors don't always check for that). It sounds like the ear infection source is much more likely, but because my grandmother had what was probably Bell's Palsy from Lyme without doctors realizing that was going on, I now feel like I should always remind people about that possibility.

Anyway, *hugs and wishes for swift healing*

The doctor did ask me about insect bites, as well as giving me a scrip for an antibiotic, just in case. And I have an appointment with my doctor on the 5th anyway, so that'll be the followup the ER doc wants me to do.

Also, the novelty has worn off, and now I just want to hit people who order drinks with pumps of pumpkin spice.
