Konoha Visits: Kankuro by Melfina Lupin

Summary: Kankuro pays a little visit to Konoha

Author Notes: One of three stories in the 'Konoha Visits' series. It's written in the present tense. I usually don't write like this so please excuse the errors ^^

Pairing: Gai/Kankuro, hints of Lee/Gaara and Shikamaru/Temari

Rating: NC-17 ;)

Kankuro doesn't know how he feels when he enters Konoha with his siblings. Tired and hungry after the three days of steadfast travel, yes, but those things are unimportant when he sees his sister glance to the right to notice the Nara boy and smiles for the first time in days or when Rock Lee is suddenly at Gaara's side, tenderly putting a hand on his brother's shoulder without a shred of fear. With their shitty upbringing Kankuro is truly relieved and happy for his siblings.

“Your journey was safe, I hope?” Lee asks, proper in his green chuunin vest.

Gaara nods briefly and Lee flashes a brilliant smile, looking incredibly relieved.

“If you have time, I'd like to you lunch.” Lee blushes and then bows. “Gai-sensei says it's the proper thing to do after all your done for Konoha.”

Temari glances over at Kankuro and shrugs, grinning. “Sure, Lee. Sounds good.”

The small group moves away but Kankuro lingers, his dry, achy eyes moves swiftly about his surroundings, looking for something that is not there. Disappointment is quick to settle in but denial comes too. Denial is something Kankuro can deal with. He chalks it up to exhaustion.

“Kankuro!” Temari calls his name, brining him from his thoughts. Already the group is halfway down the street but Temari is waiting for him. He sighs and starts to walk. She entwines her arm around his when he stands next to her.

“What is it?”

She's staring at him with sisterly worry but he refuses to look her in the eye. He only grumbles, “Nothing,” and hopes Temari will get the hint and drop the subject.

She nods but clearly doesn't believe him. She is saving her questions for later. When they finally catch up to their bother, he is walking besides Lee, silent as the Leaf informs him about what has happened in Konoha since they were last here as well as well as his favorite restaurants and that of his sensei and teammates. Kankuro wonders how Lee doesn't pass out from asphyxiation but Gaara doesn't seem to mind the one-sided conversation.

Kankuro watches as Lee stretches his fingers to softly bump against the back of Gaara's hand. That all his brother needs to reach out and clasps them. By Temari's muffled laugh, she sees it too.

“They're so cute,” Temari murmurs softly behind her hand, practically grinning, as they follow Gaara and Lee inside a small, cool restaurant. He forces himself to smile.

Inside a pretty waitress shows them to a table large with enough space for the siblings to sit their weapons on the flood beside them and waits patiently for their orders. She smiles shyly at Kankuro before leaving.

“I think she likes you,” Temari tells him casually as she sips her water.

Kankuro shrugs and pays more attention to the tabletop than usual. The girl used to be his type. Tiny and cute with big eyes and a pretty smile.

“Um...yeah,” Kankuro replies, looking away.

Temari arches a slender eyebrow but doesn't pressure him anymore. He listens to the conversation around him-mostly it's Temari and Lee chatting about mundane things with Gaara speaking up now and then-but he doesn't pay attention in until Lee mentions the members of his team.

“...and Gai-sensei has been off on a mission for the past week with Neji and Tenten. I would have gone too but Godaime-san wanted me to stay here to wait for your arrival.”

“A mission?”

“Yes, Kankuro-san,” Lee replies amiably, obviously very proud of his sensei. “To Water Country. They will be back in a couple of days...”

Kankuro frowns and looks away again. After 3 days of jerky and bitter coffee, the food inside smells heavenly but suddenly Kankuro isn't hungry at all. At some point Gaara is starting to at him without blinking until Kankuro finally can't take the scrutiny anymore and glowers at his brother and mouths 'what'. Gaara returns with 'what's wrong'.

He sighs, surrendering to the inevitable. If his brother is asking him that, then he must look fucking miserable.

“I'm going,” he says, standing up.

“What? Why?”

Kankuro stares at his sister and shrugs. “Don't feel well.”

She frowns and puts and hand against his forehead. She puts her other hand against her own brow. At other times this action would have been welcomed but now it is just annoying. “You do feel a little warm.”

“See? I'm going.” He grabs his puppets and swings them onto his back.

“Do you wish to go to the hospital, Kankuro-san?” Lee offers.

“No.” He starts to turn away but remembers his manners. “Thanks. I'll see you guys later.”

“Get some rest,” Temari calls after him. When he walks out the waitress watches him, looking a little disappointed.

“God dammit,” he swears viciously. He really should forget all this and go back in and ask her name or something. She's pretty cute. But somehow Kankuro just doesn't have the energy and just keeps walking to the district of Konoha that houses foreign visitors. Since the news of the sand siblings arrival in Konoha spreads fast in the village, Kankuro doesn't have long to wait for the chuunin at the entrance to contact someone who will show him where he's staying during his time in Konoha.

As always the apartment is large and nice with several rooms. Being the brother of the Kazekage as well as allies with Leaf has some great perks.

When Kankuro finds the bedroom, he removes his puppets and rests the heavy bundles carefully against the wall. He finds a cotton robe in the closet and a shower in the next room upon further inspection. He strips of his dirty clothes and drops them into a pile on the floor before grabbing the robe and heading to the shower to a quick wash. The warm water feels good on his skin but it doesn't make Kankuro feel any better.

Just as tired as before Kankuro sits down on the bed, toweling his hair dry. He'll wash his clothes later when his has too. Now he just wants to sleep until the time they have to go back home. He tosses the damp towel on the floor and crawls under the asylum of the covers.

Just as he closes his eyes, there's a knock at the door. Of course.

He frowns and shouts “Come in,” as loud as he can because he doesn't want to get up now that he's finally comfortable.

“Oi, Kankuro! Where are you?”

“Here.” He buries his head beneath the pillow. He hears Temari enter the room. He wonders if she's purposely trying to sounds like an elephant just to annoy him. The mattress dips a little under her weight when she sits down next to him.

“All ready asleep?”

“I would be if you hadn't shown up.” Kankuro turns on his side, away from her, and curls up into a tight ball. “Go away.”

“Are you going to tell me what's the matter?” Temari is wavering between frustration and worry.

“No.”

“Baby.”

“Loud-mouth.”

She smacks his shoulder. “Is it something I should be worried about?”

“Like?”

“I don't know. Tuberculosis or some drug addiction?”

Kankuro snorts. “It's nothing fatal.”

“Oh!” Temari exclaims and claps her hands together. “I know what it is!”

For a minute Kankuro thinks he's going to die in the more painful and embarrassing way possible. He buries he's face into the mattress and feels his skin start to burn red hot.

“You're sad that you didn't get the waitress' number, right?”

“NO!”

Temari chuckles and pats his shoulder. “It's a pity. She really likes you. Said you you look exotic...or something like that. Maybe it was erotic...but that's just gross.”

“Please leave. Now.”

“I was just teasing!” She grabs on to him so it's impossible to move away from her without struggling.

“You're not funny.”

“Idiot,” Temari hissed before standing. “I'm taking your clothes. I can wash them, mine and Gaara's all together.”

“Thank you.”

“Do you need anything else?”

“Besides a room without you?”

“I'm leaving, I'm leaving.” She pulls the pillow away from Kankuro's face to kiss his forehead. Though she is annoying and overbearing sometimes and Kankuro hates to admit it but Temari's a good sister.

“Have a good nap.”

Her motherly care is embarrassing so he rebukes, “You smell. Go take a shower.”

“Ass.” She drops the pillow back down on top of his face and leaves.

***

It's well into the night when the knocking at the front door rouses Kankuro. Groggy and a little bemused after such a deep sleep, he sits up slowly. He rubs his eyes, then pushes the warm blankets back, and stands up after he remembers where the hell he is. All the while the knocking continues. In the dark he makes his way to the door, unhappy and disoriented. It's probably Temari coming to check on him again.

He quickly fixes his robe that has been rumpled during his sleep and pushes the hair from his eyes before unlocking the door and opening it. It took him just a second to realize that his caller wasn't his sister. But someone very tall and very green. Someone he has not seen in a while. A second later strong arms embrace him and he can hardly breathe.

“Kitty...” That husky voice and ridiculous nickname are all too familiar and for a moment the pain in his heart is excruciating.

“Fucking hell,” Kankuro hissed angrily against Gai's chest. He shuts his eyes and wraps his arms around the older man's waist, holding on tight.

“I'm sorry I woke you,” Gai begins, only sounding faintly apologetic.

“I don't care!” He wants to say so much and ask so many questions that it's hard to find something to say. For the most part he just wants to hold Gai like this and let Gai hold him no matter how stupid it makes him look. This is the epitome of what Kankuro hates the most - dependent, emotional, and totally out of control- but he doesn't care.

Gai is perfectly content to stay like this, his cheek resting against the top of Kankuro's head, until, after a long moment, Kankuro pulls away a little, innumerable emotions running across his face.

“I hurried back as fast as I could so I could see you.”

Kankuro's heart does a little flip flop but he quickly squelches the feeling of light-headed giddiness and frowns at Gai. “That's stupid. You were probably reckless...”

A warm hand against his cheek stops him completely. Despite years of fighting, Gai's fingers are pretty smooth and soft, gentle when he wants to be gentle. Kankuro bites his lower lip as he stares into Gai's face. His large dark eyes are full of warmth and tenderness that Kankuro can't handle it.

“I promise I was very careful, Kitty,” Gai tells him in a low intense whisper that makes Kankuro want to shiver and melt into a boiling pool of hormones. “I missed you too.”

Gai smiles down at him softly before leaning down. Kankuro's eyes slid shut when he feels Gai's lips innocently graze his. They are still soft and smooth just like Kankuro remembers, and can taste the strawberry chap stick Gai always wears. The kiss deepens slowly.

When he grabs Gai by the vest and pulls him inside the dark apartment, Gai doesn't even end the sweet kiss as the heavy metal door shuts behind them. Inside they part a little and Gai caresses Kankuro cheek with the back of his fingers while he comments affectionately, “Your hair's longer than before.”

Kankuro doesn't want to think about the months since they last saw each other. “I haven't had time to cut it in a while,” Kankuro mutters.

“What's wrong, Kitty?”

Kankuro glowers and mutters darkly, “We haven't seen each other in months and you want to talk about my hair?”

Grief fills Gai's eyes. “I've written letters.”

Yeah, I still have all of them, Kankuro thinks before shaking his head and sputtering, “That doesn't count! I mean...don't you want to fuck or something?”

“No.” Gai smiles again and cups Kankuro's disgruntled face with his hands. “I want to make love,” he purrs softly.

“Then why the hell are we waiting?”

Gai chuckles and kisses his forehead. Kankuro is moments from punching the bastard. Gai can be so exasperating sometimes. He knows that he hates to be treated like a kid.

“I forget how young you are sometimes,” he murmurs, his lips moving against Kankuro's skin.

“I'm 19! I haven't have sex in months. Months! It'll be a miracle if my dick works at all! Now can we please go to the bedroom before I go crazy?” It sounds like pleading to Kankuro's ears but his patience is all gone. “I promise we can talk all you want afterwards.”

“We'll see about that,” Gai mutters thickly as Kankuro pulls him into the bedroom.

When they are finally there it's not long before they're kissing again and Kankuro reaches for the belt of his robe. Gai's long fingers cover his.

“Let me, Kitty,” Gai offers, nuzzling the side of his neck, whispering his words into Kankuro's ear. “Let me do everything.”

It's almost too much for Kankuro to take. He just nods, closes his eyes, and prays that he can last at least a minute under Gai's diligent care. But he's so hard already that one minute might be too long.

Gai takes his time removing Kankuro's robe. He runs his large hands over Kankuro's bare skin-over his shoulders, down his arms, his chest, and abdomen as if trying to memorize each and every old scar, tattoo, and toned muscle. It drives Kankuro wild and restlessness. Gai's touch is too light and soft to satisfy the seemingly endless burn growing inside Kankuro.

Gai's lips travel up to caress Kankuro's. He parts them eagerly and moans softly when Gai slips his tongue inside. He feels Gai's hands trailing down his to rest on the curve of his ass, grabbing his and slowly bringing their bodies closer together. He's hot and hard, pressing against his stomach.

Then they are moving backwards the bed. When the mattress presses against the back of his knees, Kankuro drops down, hearing Gai undressing in the dark and is slightly disappointed that he can't see but feeling Gai's skin on his is fair better than anything. He doesn't remember the last time it felt so good to be with someone like this, so intimate and vulnerable. Gai is on top of him, his weight pressing Kankuro into the soft warm mattress and making him feel oh-so-good with his hands and mouth. All the Kankuro has to do is lay there and enjoy. And enjoy he did though he knew he wouldn't last for long. It's been too long. But it's not a bad deal. Gai is very good at what he does.

Kankuro shivers when he feel Gai's lips against this neck, slowly trailing down to kiss his shoulders. Every touch and kiss is perfect and send sparks of warmth racing throughout Kankuro's body. His hands fist in the wrinkled covers when he feels Gai tongue on his belly, the tip of his erection rubbing against Gai's chin. He can't help but buck his hips in anticipation and need as Gai shifts, taking Kankuro in his mouth.

He squeezes his eyes shut and moans breathlessly. The wet heat surrounding him is an amazing, pleasurable torture that makes him move restlessly against the mattress, arching his back and spreading his legs. When Gai increases his pace, Kankuro bites his hand to keep from crying out as he comes.

As Kankuro pants heavily, Gai doesn't stop sucking him until all traces of his orgasm are gone and he's limp before he shifts and Kankuro can feel his tongue caressed the puckered skin of his entrance. He squirms a little, it's been a while since he's felt that kind of sensation, but doesn't pull away. Gai is careful as he prepares him and doesn't continue until Kankuro is comfortable. He starts to probe. First with the tip of his tongue and then the entire wet length until Kankuro is shaking with want and hard again.

For a moment Gai leaves him to retrieve something from his rumpled uniform. Even as the sound of his harsh breathing fills his ears, Kankuro hears Gai popping open a tube. His weight depresses the mattress once more as he settles between Kankuro's legs. There is a warm hand on his knee before Kankuro feels one of Gai's slick fingers slipping inside his body. Kankuro moans softly, biting his lips, already ready for more than that but Gai takes it slow. A second finger is added, stretching the tight flesh more. The discomfort is ephemeral as Gai continues to caress him.

Kankuro breathes deeply and suffers though Gai's thoroughness, knowing the man wouldn't speed things along even if he begged. Finally he was ready and Gai shifted, crawling up Kankuro's shaking body to kiss him deeply. With one hand he supports his weight and with the other he guides himself and slowly pushes the head of his cock inside. Kankuro bites his lower lip, his body tensing, eyes slamming shut as Gai fills him.

“Relax, kitty,” Gai murmurs into his ear in a heavy, labored voice that makes warmth spread throughout Kankuro's body.

He can only nod, too preoccupied with all the sensations bombarding his body. It feels just like the first time they did it. Gai holds his sculpted body still as he waits for Kankuro's body to relax, kissing and nuzzling the younger man all the while. When Kankuro thinks he's ready, he wraps his legs around Gai's waist and breathes, “Move.”

The rhythm is slow and maddening at first but it slowly builds until Gai is thrusting in and out of Kankuro's body, panting heavily, sweat running in beads down his tan skin. Kankuro's blunt nails dig into the skin on Gai's back, forming red, half-moon shapes. Their bodies shake and tremble, touches and kisses turn frantic as the pleasure builds and slowly starts to overflow. Then there is a hand on his cock, pumping him quickly until Kankuro tosses his head back against the pillow, moaning loudly, and comes once more.

He collapses against the bed, spent and out of breath, while pleasure buzzes throughout his body like electricity, watching through squinted eyes as Gai moves above him, finding his own climax. Smooth black hair hangs over his closed eyes and his lips are parted, as he slowly pulls himself from Kankuro's cooling body before resting besides the younger man.

He wraps an arms around Kankuro, holding him close as they breath quietly for a while. The aftermath is calm and sleepy but Kankuro knows they need to get cleaned up soon. But he can't seem to get the energy to move just yet. He's body feels so heavy and tired but it feels so nice to be resting in Gai's arms.

Later, they lie together on their sides, exhausted but content. Gai has an arm around Kankuro's waist and softly kisses the back of his neck while Kankuro lingers somewhere between sleep and wakefulness. Everything is very cozy. Then Gai finally moves, climbing to his feet as carefully as he can be. Kankuro hears him move towards the bathroom. When he comes back, a wet washcloth cleans Kankuro's body before Gai slips back into the bed to pull Kankuro into his arms, holding him close. He nuzzles his neck and shoulders.

“Kitty?”

“Hmm?”

“What's this?”

Kankuro manages to summon the energy to open an eye and grips Gai's fingers blindly, feeling a strip of paper caught in between them. It takes him a moment to figure out what it is before resting his head again. “The number of my would-be girlfriend.”

“Would be?”

Kankuro nods, sleepy, and entangles his fingers with Gai's, paper forgotten, and tucks them beneath his chin. “She's cute but I didn't know if you...if we were...you know, serious. Exclusive.”

His body is tenses as if to brace himself for the worst. His voice is soft and low when he asks, “Do you want to be?”

Kankuro doesn't like trick questions. “Do you?”

“Yes, Kitty.”

“Okay then.”

“So were dating now?”

A tired smile spreads across Kankuro's face as he chuckles softly. Somehow Gai seems too old to be talking about dating. “I guess so.”

“I'm being serious. I don't want something short-term.”

“Me neither.”

“Good.” Gai kisses him once more. “I want to take you out to eat tomorrow night.”

“Like a couple?”

“Yes.” Gai can sense Kankuro's uneasiness as he turns over and wraps his arms around Gai's waist. “Unless you don't want too.”

“I do but...it's like this is all new,” Kankuro murmurs against Gai's chest. “I just want some more time just the two of us before we let anyone know.”

“All right, Kitty. Let's have dinner at my apartment tomorrow night.”

Kankuro nodes, his eyes are feeling heavier now. “Okay.”

***
Kankuro wakes up to knocking once more. The morning light in blinding as he opens his eyes. He winces and buries his head in Gai's arms. The knocking doesn't cease so he quickly climbs out of bed. Whoever is at the door, Kankuro will make them pay for disturbing his nice sleep. He pulls on his robe, shooting angry looks at Gai as he sleeps soundly in bed.

He hurries to the door, catching it in time as Temari swings it open.

“What do you want?”

Temari glares at him from the other side of the door. It's only open an inch or so. There's no way his letting her inside.

“Did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed or what? I brought your clothes back, idiot,” she tells him, before shoving the items hard into his chest.

“Thanks,” he wheezes. He starts to shut the door but she sticks her foot between it and the door jam. “What now?”

She stares at him until he was uncomfortable and fidgety. “You're acting weird.”

“No, I'm not,” Kankuro snaps back.

“Oh, really? What are you trying to hide?”

“Nothing. I'm sick. I just don't want you to catch it.”

Accusation quickly turns to disgust in Temari's eyes. She jumps back good foot.

“I'll talk to you later,” Kankuro mutters, slamming the door shut.

He leans against it, weak from relief. That was way too close. When a pair of arms wrap around his waist, Kankuro jumps a little but instantly calms down when Gai kisses his neck. Though the thin cotton of the gown, he can tell that the older man is still naked.

“Who was that?”

Kankuro rolls his eyes and drops his clean clothes on the table next to the door. “My sister.” He turns around and wraps his arms around Gai's neck. His usually smooth hair is disheveled from sleep and there's some dark stubble gracing his jaw.

Kankuro buries his hands in Gai's hair and pulls him down for a kiss.

“Are you busy today?” Gai asks heatedly.

“No. Are you?”

“No. Let's go back to bed.”

The promise Kankuro hears in Gai sleep-rough voice is enough to make him want to forget the bed all together. When the door opens again, they are too involved with each other to react other than stare in horror at the door.

A second later Kankuro is staring at his sister who's wide eyes are darting between him and a very naked Gai. To her credit, she doesn't blush or stare at things that do not need to be stared at. Instead a bag of food pops up in front of her face.

“Forgot to give you this,” she says weakly. It's very quiet and awkward when she sits the bag down and shuts the door.

“Well, that really wasn't how I wanted to be presented to your sister,” Gai manages is say. There is a vibrant pink blush staining his cheeks.

Kankuro swallows hard. He doesn't want to think about what he's sister is going to do now. Hopefully she'll keep her mouth shut and not tell Gaara that his brother is screwing his boyfriend's sensei.

Very slowly, he grabs Gai's hand and drags him back to the bedroom.

The End :)
I hope you like it. Comments are loved. ♥
