It's not really an animal, but any kind of bug/arachnid -- roaches, beetles, spiders, centipedes, all of them.  They freeze up my chest and my breathing quickens.  i know sensibly they can't hurt me, that i'm much larger, but the fear is overwhelming.  ive gotten better about it in that i don't scream and panic, but i also need someone to come and

I watched a show about them - they seem like they are always in a bad mood - it's odd to see an animal that is consistently uncomfortable in it's own skin.

Thank you both for the comments! i can see the tasmanian devils as well. Rather fierce, aren't they?

The thought of alligators eating my little dogs scares me as well, but it's not that i'm afraid of them as creatures, but as a potential threat. It's the old story of the woman sitting beneath an axe, crying because she anticipates her son being killed by it through a myriad of happenstances that are all equally unlikely.
