About John, you're absolutely right. If he were in paparazzi pics every other day, flaunting his relationship with Emily, people might have expected this. But because they're so private, it appears to be sudden etc. BUT, as someone on ONTD said, it's only an engagement so DON'T GIVE UP YET! :D
YES, I want all of those elements to come back! I think Jim/Pam will have these big episodes in the beginning, and then something else will come to the forefront. Also, I'm kinda hoping for some Andy/Oscar, ahahaha.

I really like Emily Blunt and I think they make a cute couple so I'm happy for them. I like that they are low-lying and not paparazzi fodder. I honestly have to laugh at the people who are like NOOOOOO CRUSHED because... yes, him marrying someone else is the exact reason why JKras has not come to sweep you off your feet LOLOLOLOL. I mean, obviously lots of people are just kidding with their wailing but some folks on ONTD seemed disturbingly serious in their distress.

I don't watch GG but I totally 'ship Chuck/Blair. I think it is impossible not to be pulled into their orbit if you see anything about them. I kind of experience the magic of Chuck/Blair vicariously through my friend's list.

LMAO that was exactly the case for me! "Pulled into their orbit", you described it perfectly. I mean you see about a million icons/gifs of them kissing in the limo (like the one I just got, rofl) and think, "they're hot". And then there are gifs of him kind of crying in her arms and her comforting him and you think, "awww, love". And after seeing the recent filming pics all over the place, I reached the point where I was like "OMG ENOUGH ALREADY WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH THEM". And thus I got sucked into it. :D

Season 2 wasn't awful, but it was definitely not good. Some storylines were really lame and there was not much character development (at least not in a good way!).
I have faith in S3, though. I believe Chuck/Blair will rule it. :)
