While I will certainly miss the Hub and all that entails (and what WAS the everything that changes, that we have to be ready for?), COE was BRILLIANT television. The lighting was gorgeous, there were a lot of subtle and gorgeous acting moments (Ianto's sister, Jack's daughter, Frobisher's aide), and the political moments chilling (the worse monsters are the politicians, not the aliens). In some ways, this is a sophisticated sci fi tale that just happens to have Torchwood characters in it (and in some ways, not the most important ones). And I can live with that. How often do we get brilliant science fiction on television? There's plenty of room in fanfic for everything else, all the things that COE *wasn't*. The rudeness to Moran is just embarrassing.
I doubt anyone on my flist would come be hostile but I figured you should at least be aware you were going to have eyes from outside your own flist reading it.
Forgot to tell you...somebody on a comm mentioned getting tshirts to wear to ComicCon that states their position. I just back clicked when I realized they thought they had had an original idea.
Thank you so much for saying this. I have nearly had it with the behavior fandom has been exhibiting over this. It's nice to see a rational, adult response for a change.
I really want to go to the TW panel at Comic-Con, and I really do not want to witness any embarrassing fan behavior. That may be too much to hope for at this point, though.
