So I get out the Boppy to nurse Lauren last night.  We have a little spot for it where it is sort of tucked between a chair and the pack-n-play.  I sit down and get ready to feed her and notice that the kitchen light is on and the dining room light is on.  Empty lighted rooms are a pet peeve of mine, but generally if I am getting ready to feed the ( Read more... )

I'm glad that it didn't get on you. I freak out when it comes to spiders, too.

What kind of spider do you think it was?

I'm not sure what kind of spider it was. It was big and crunchy looking. Mike disposed of it - thank GOD!!

I really really really love your icon!!!

Ha! That sounds like the voice I heard the other night. (Or wee hours of the morning.)

I got up in at 4 in the morning to pee. I usually leave the light off as our bathroom is right off our bedroom and the bathroom light shines right onto the bed.

But that night something told me to turn on the light. I never do, but I did anyway.

It's a good thing I did! I walked over to the toilet and saw a small grey shape moving in the toilet. It was a fricken mouse! Swimming in my toilet!!! I don't know why it was there, but it was there.

Can you imagine if I had sat down in the dark to pee and....*shudders*

Thank god I turned on that light.

(**For the record, no I'm not such a bad housekeeper that I have mice. I just live in the middle of no where surrounded by farms and woods and a house that has sore need of some construction love and care.**)

Sorry but I had to comment on this. I think I would have freaked out more about a mouse in the toilet than the spider. A mouse in the toilet is probably right up there with finding a snake in there...not that I have...i'm just sayin'. :D

See, I never understood the mouse fear. I love mice and think they're adorable! My three favorite animals are squirrels, guinea pigs, and prairie dogs (all rodents). But there are plenty of people who don't understand my absolute horror at centipedes, so I guess it's all even. ;)

Isn't it funny when a little voice tells us something? And how accurate that little voice tends to be? And how we just blindly do what the voice says because history has taught us not to question it and to just do it? It's weird. Intuition or God?

I actually saw a mouse at Joshua's school when I was there for Halloween. I couldn't believe it was real, so I sorta shouted "That's a real mouse!" and it was mass chaos. The kids were on their chairs screaming and the parents and teachers were screaming too. Honestly, I'm not afraid of mice. I could pick it up and kiss it if it wasn't so fast. But if they (and you) are afraid of mice anywhere near as much as I am afraid of spiders and centipedes, then I can empathize.

And I don't think that houses with mice are dirty houses. ;)
