emerald city comic con

So we went to Seattle this weekend to go to the emerald city comic con. We went last year too, and got to meet Julie Benz (Darla from angel and buffy). This year Jewel Staite came (Kaylee from Firefly), as well as 3 of the cast of BSG (which we don't watch, so we did't care about) and Wil Wheaton (who neither Paul nor I cared about, but Kelly did). It was *much* busier than last year. For example, we went to a couple of the panel discussions last year and had no problem getting in. Even the busiest one last year sat everyone who came to see it. This year? We lined up to see Jewel about half an hour before her panel was to start, and we did not make it in to see/hear her (I was *very* disappointed by this). We did manage to get into the Wil Wheaton panel (standing room only, though), but it was in a room twice as big. I got a few pics (not many). The first one is me with David Mack, who draws and writes a comic I enjoy mainly for the artwork. (He also does Daredevil, but I don't care about that).

Here is one of the prints I bought from him (anyone recognize it? I am not sure if any of you have read what it is from or not...)

Here is a picture of me and a giant bolt display they had set up (yes it was actually an inflatable hamster ball)

And of course, the picture of us with Kaylee

You may notice that the picture isnt signed. That was my other huge disappointment from the weekend. By the time our picture got developed, Jewel had already left for the day (she was scheduled to be there until 5, but I guess she had to leave early, and we didn't know that so we missed it). yes, I am a dork and I cried, so sue me :-P She's my fav character from firefly and I was greatly looking forward to getting to actually see her for more than 3 seconds getting a picture taken. oh well, such is life. :-/

Paul will post later some more stuff about his experience (cuz he had a few really cool things happen), but I think that is all for me for now.
