Hmmm, well, of course you can do this! I wonder about the tomato sauce but I imagine it is because of the added sugar. OF course some peanut butter has added sugar too so I would check sugar content before eating too much. OF course it does not sound like you will be eating too much of anything! See, knowledge IS power!

Good you figured out how to make it work w/o too much hassle. And not having tomato sauce isn't *so* bad (I can't have tomatoes or potatoes b/c they cause insane amounts of reflux - this being a permanent issue.) If you like alfredo-type sauces you can make one from mostly milk to have with pasta if you want (which is what I do.)

I'm glad you feel a lot better about this now. You'll get to be the one the rest of us come to for advice if/when we get diagnosed with it. :-) (I figure I'm doomed since every older adult in my family - including extended family - has diabetes, and my grandpa died from it.)

Can't wait to "see" you in a month! ;-)

RE alfredo sauce - milk is also a carb. (not that I like alfredo sauces anyway).

Interesting. I never thought of milk as a carb. Is all dairy considered to be carbs or just milk?

milk, yogurt, ice cream, froyo. The rest of what I would call dairy ish things are in either fats or proteins (both of which are ok/good to have)
