So glad you got the lip and tongue ties clipped. They are WAY undiagnosed here. That was actually Alicia's issue too, but we didn't know til 4m and by then my supply couldn't rebuild. I'm still a bit irked when I think about it, since her issues actually affected her ability to even drink well from a bottle. Good for you on the laser treatment - we don't have laser locally, so her ties were cauterized instead, though we got to be present for the procedure. Lip tie can cause lots of issues, from tooth decay of the front teeth, to speech issues, to a permanent gap between the front teeth (which is mostly only a problem if you do something silly like major in a wind instrument at college) (I'm still lip tied and braces couldn't even fix the gap because the tie gets in the way.) Definitely genetic, and we plan to take the second kid to the same place to be evaluated and corrected within a week or two of birth. Lip tie usually indicates a posterior tongue tie, though lip tie is much more easily seen. We also did craniosacral (cst) with ( ... )
