tonight i got to be part of ryan's family's yearly tradition of "Tamale night." the whole family gets together and makes thousands (no really, i'm not being sarcastic with that number) of tamales from scratch - ryan's grandparents are mexican and i think they've been doing this for a long time. we spend hours together with the whole extended family
