I hate my printer.

So I have an Epson Stylus CX4600 printer. It's pretty cool -- when it decides to work. I've been having problems with it for a couple months now. At first, I thought it was because the ink was low. So I sold my soul to Staples for some ink cartridges (I'm never ever going to purchase ink there again). I installed them today ( Read more... )

hey, something to try, but no guarantee:

go to the epson website, look around for 'current drivers' or something of the sort, and download the latest driver for your model. Remember where you DL it to.

Then, uninstall your old driver (either by using the tool it created in the epson folder likely found in 'program files,' or by going to 'control panel' and then selecting 'add/remove programs.' Find the CORRECT epson driver and click 'change/remove.'

Finally, open the driver you DL'd and follow the instructions on the screen.

Like I said; no guarantee, but it's worth a shot.

Driver: a small program that acts as a translator between your computer and something else (hardware or software). If the most current driver is not installed, or if the driver is incorrectly installed, the program/component may not work correctly.

Hrm -- good to try. I'll work on that later today. I already tried reinstalling it from the CD...so perhaps this will work better.

Computers in general are annoying me right now. At least, windows computers are. It only took me two hours to get my computer up and running this morning!

I have an Epson also, although different style, and mine did the same thing last September! All of the sudden, it just decided not to print anymore. Just blank pages or something. I even bought new ink and the whole bit, and it still didn't work. I ended up calling the Epson folks and they had me do a couple of things, but in the end, I ended up getting a new printer since mine was still under warranty. Anyways, call epson, they're generally pretty helpful. :-) Good luck!

I think I'll do that tomorrow. I need to get some information from my parents, who actually bought the printer, before I call them. I hope they can fix it!
