He's speaking here Friday on the same topic! It's already in my calendar, looking forward to it.

Yeah. I did. I didn't realize how bad air travel is gaswise. I also worry that nothing will happen in the next 3 years.

I use fluroscents. I am going to bike to work more now. But still it seems America's too complacent and we're really, truly, screwed.

It is amazing how interesting Gore can be when he's not speaking as a focus group said he should.

Haha! No kidding.

Hmmm...he didn't mention the airtravel thing with us.

But yeah -- I've decided that walking will be my primary mode of transportation - at least when it's nice out. Plus, it's good exercise. 35 minutes of walking to the library isn't bad at all.

Scary, isn't it? There is a reason I shifted my tack entierly and am now pursuing a graduate degree in engineering focussing on renewable energy technology. I have been trying to pound global warming into my )very republican) roommate's head for some time. We're already seeing the effects (glacier loss, shifting weather patterns, global sea level rise, and yes, Katrina and other more intense storms) yet he refuses to see a problem.

Y'know what else is messed? The Bush administration said it would have to "seriously consider" authorizing a vaccine for HIV should one become available because of "the message it sends."

I'll get off my soap box now ;^).

Well, the one thing that I really liked about Gore's speech was that he stressed it wasn't a "democrat" or "republican" issue, but a moral issue.

"I didn't realize that cars in the US can't be bought in China because they aren't up to their standards!"

That little tidbit is quite scary!

I need to hear Gore sometime.
