An unlikely source of gratification

Against all odds, and based on class readings, I've actually come to like St. Ambrose. All I had known about him from the history of western philosophy was that he was one of the towering figures of the patristic age, a bishop with a flair for politics who turned the Catholic church into a force powerful enough to defy the emperor. That's awesome! I want to read some Ambrose now! You'll have to lend me your textbooks when your class is over. Also, you should spend your month between semesters in Austin with me. :)

I do definitely want to spend some time with you in Austin (though I don't know what I'd do with myself for an entire month, ha ha). Also, there's some talk amongst CMR folks of a potential get-together in late December/early January, though nothing solid yet.

Believe me, time doesn't weigh heavily on your hands in Austin like it does in Emory. lol A CMR get-together sounds awesome, though. I talked to Cash last night for a long time. You should call him. He's really, really down right now. His dad went blind in one eye, and his mom is out of jail on bail but will probably be locked away for a long time very soon. He's having a really rough time.
