The Official 2002 Recap Post

Dec 31, 2002 20:30

- At the beginning of the year I posted about losing my Honesty Room cd, and it turned out that Suu had it and I even got it back at some point. So, uh, in that grand tradition, to whom (or whatever is grammatically appropriate) did I lend my copies of The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven, Myst, and Riven?

- Belgians.

- Actually took a class called Religion and Popular Culture, in which I got to write a paper on Monty Python's Life of Brian. Also took photo, which was excellent. And actually got a 3.5 for my last semester in college.

- Went to Cape Cod with Decklin.

- Turned 21. Got my own domain, because Decklin is a sweetheart.

- Apparently we've been planning to go to Montreal all year, which never actually happened. Next year, definitely.

- Saw Winona Laduke, Belle & Sebastian, and Underworld.

- Lost my fish. He was three years old, and the first pet I ever had besides the aquarium I had when I was a kid (where my dad did most of the work).

- Learned to knit - made a lopsided bunny for my boss, a baby hat and a Decklin hat (though I will have to make him another one). Half-successfully crocheted a potholder (which is to say that it is an effective potholder, but sort of lopsided). Discovered Easy Mac.

- Got Toaster, attempted to install Windows 98, failed, and have been learning Debian by immersion ever since.

- Worried about graduating, graduated, got the ps2, fucked around for awhile, got a job, got an apartment. Now own my very own dining table, but I have not yet succumbed to owning a sofa. Mostly because there isn't enough room for one.

- Drove my mom's car around with one headlight and never got it fixed. Got Frank the Car. Then Frank's headlight, same headlight, went out.

- Gramma started bugging me about getting married. I assume this will continue until one of us dies or I actually get married, at which point it will turn into "When are you having kids?", which is worse.

- Went on the Great American Half-Vegan Half-Lesbian Road Trip, which I still have not gotten around to web-ifying, mostly because I broke my camera right before and our pictures kinda suck. Happily, the camera is still under warranty, mostly because we didn't tell them it broke when I left it in a hot car. Have now seen South Dakota and the Biggest Ball of Twine, so life is somewhat more complete.

- Was reminded that I can't escape reality.

[I am wearing the British Airways shirt and a very scruffy flannel because "I wanted to dress early-90's." Decklin apparently has an ogg of Blister in the Sun, which is now playing in honor of the occasion.]
