She was there. In the room with him. The haunting grace that followed her everywhere permeated the room. The mind told him she was dead, that he should just forget about her. But the heart. The heart always told him something else: She was still alive and waiting for him just beyond the horizon. Opening his eyes, Spike realized he was alone. Julia wasn't there and she would never be again.

Damn, he needed a cold shower and to just forget about the blond angel from hell.

When the winter wind bit at her cheeks and the sun was hidden behind the clouds, Mia always let her mind drift to days gone by. It was easiest when she didn't have to remember that he was gone, when she could let the past reclaim her. The sun would shine on her and the years would turn back all that had happened. She could pretend she felt the warmth of summer ebb the eternal cold away.

He had proposed to her back then. Underneath the August sun. She had thought it was merely a little picnic in a meadow for their third year anniversary. But then he had knelt before her and shown her the solitary diamond ring. Her life had been changed forever and she had tasted eternity that year. That single year. Their single year as husband and wife.

Roy stretched luxuriously in bed. The feel of the Egyptian Cotton sheets against his nudity was always a welcomed sensation. A headache pounded behind his eyes, but it was welcomed. Warmth beside him let him know he had gotten lucky last night. Rolling over with a grin on his face, he faltered as he saw the other person lying in bed with him.

"Glacia?" the man beside him muttered sloppily.

Roy had never been a man who enjoyed apples. There was no firmness in some, and others bruised much too easily. While they did have a decided sweet and salty taste, he preferred other fruit much better. Good hard melons, the smooth skin sily beneath his commanding fingers. Never would they bruise beneath his demanding touch, their taste much more consistant.

But with Riza, he found he could live without a crate of fruit. Without those melons or even apples. He didn't need the side dishes anymore, his first course more than satiated his hunger. Everything from the everyday to the exotic was sampled, second or even third courses were regularily indulged in. And there would never be a single left over, his tongue was skilled in making sure of that.

She was out of her mind. It was the only reason her ear drums were about to commit suicide and take her brain with them. The horrible scratching of his violin whined in agony as Rain danced and twirled to a beat that could only sound good to him. But then again, it was better than the silent absense of him. She never wanted to lose him again.
