I thought it would be fun if you, as a writer, would indulge me by writing a few paragraphs--ANONYMOUSLY--in a comment and let me try to guess who you are. just be yourself as hard as you can be and write some fiction, be it fanfiction or original works. You can make it really long if you want. Like a quadrupled times 284 drabble ^__ ( Read more... )

Holly woke up to the sound of a loud thud against the wall next to her bed. Startled by the noise, Holly got up and walked out of her bedroom and walked towards the door to her parents’ room ( ... )

She took her bottle of pain reliever, opened the cap, poured them into her shaking hands and sat there. She stared at the array of pills in her hands, then looked around her room at what she would be leaving behind. The poster of her favorite band. Her collection of shoes. The frames with pictures of happy times. Her hands were shaking as she slowly stood up, the pills in one hand as she reached for a bottle of water. She unscrewed the cap with her hand. Tears streamed down her face, her whole body was shaking now. She was breathing hard, short, quick breaths. She poured the pills into her mouth and washed them down with the water. She took out a notebook and pen. Her note explained what she had been feeling and that she took pills so it would be nice and clean and no one would have to clean up after her ( ... )

He strode inside the doors with dramatic flair, the ornate wood closing slowly behind him. A gust of wind blew in before they swung fully closed, caressing his hair and clothes as if to desperately catch him before he could elude its grasp. Sighting the small figure of a receptionist staring at him from behind her desk, he put on most charming smile, striding across the marble floor to greet her ( ... )

"Nefarious" - Original Work anonymous August 10 2006, 21:18:30 UTC
The full moon shone bright as a strong gust swept along the streets piles of litter, trash, and leaves. Old discarded candy wrappers, cigarette butts, and bottles filtered through the deserted paved pathways with a week old newspaper.

This part of the city had been abandoned for years. Everything that could have been worth anything had log since been looted. The houses and buildings were boarded up, graffiti covering almost every square inch. Windows were near non-existent, the shards of their former whole existences shattered beneath them and sticking out from their panes at dangerous, odd angles.

The front page of the New Age Rhythm fluttered about the quieted streets bringing to its most important news of the Teras Point Tragedy to the abandoned establishments. It caressed the sidewalks, letting every dried ink letter slide against the smooth pavement imparting to the city its knowledge of mankind’s most recent devastation ( ... )

“Heh,” a grin spread across his features, but only momentarily as bullets were pelting the grass and pavement behind him. “Not gonna catch me that easily,” he said to no one in particular. His voice was deep and gruff, and as soon as he hit the curb of the street, he jumped high into the air. The bullets followed his upward arc; finally on the sunless horizon, his would-be assassins and captors appeared ( ... )

The radio was on, but I couldn’t pay attention to it as I drove. I was almost home, and even though the sun was shining brightly - had been all day - I couldn’t find it within myself to be happy. I was just…hollow. I suppose it was better than being sad, though. Maybe I was just emotionally exhausted? That was definitely plausible after the past few nights… But whatever it was, I couldn’t stand it, and I couldn’t very well escape it, either. My mind just droned on and on without ceasing -a lot like the music on the radio was doing. I could have turned it off, but the problem was that then, the car would be silent, and my thoughts would have been all the louder. That would have been ok if only the thoughts about him would stop. It was just…..I couldn’t ( ... )

It was around 5:00 in the afternoon, and the sun was setting brilliantly. (I got off early. Boss said something weird -that I needed it. What was that supposed to mean? -Was it showing? Could everyone see? I was glad it was Friday; I hoped the weekend would allow me to figure out some way of getting things under control.) Technically, it was time for me to cook dinner or go eat out somewhere, but I didn’t feel like eating. I hadn’t for a couple of days -not since I’d found out. And I know, I know… That’s not healthy and on and on, but I would have only thrown it up. Besides, it’s not like the stuff I ate was ever commended for its amazing health merits. I figured I’d survive. I was sure I’d be able to eat once I got hungry ( ... )
