i got the DVD set for my dad the year it came out for christmas, and i'm pretty sure i watch it monthly. the opening theme always makes me tear up, and those last ten minutes of the whole thing? "grandpa, were you a hero in the war?" grandpa said, "no, but i served in the company of heroes." i bawl like a little kid every time, it's kind of pathetic.
but yes yes yes those are beautiful and amazing and i love you so so much for these!

The opening theme never fails to make me emotional, too. The music and the images are just so beautiful. <3 And I know what you mean with that quote of Dick Winters. And when Bill Guarnere says, "sometimes it still makes me cry" I start bawling too. The interview with the real Easy men might just be my 'favorite' thing about the series. Well, that and the pretty actors who delivered an outstanding job. They gave the war a human face and that I really do appreciate, because before I watched BoB I was never really interested in what happened in my country and continent over 60 years ago.
