i tried to look ahead, but the story was already over.

this morning started with a scream. or rather, Anastasia Screamed. i took a break from the monotony of my CD collection to listen to the radio as i was getting dressed. WZBC came through in fits and spurts of static, so i tuned in WMBR, my radio ( Read more... )

oh god, that's sad. My heart stopped when I read the part about 9/11.

This is really weird -I saw this guy at Bread & Circus today who reminded me of Chick and I had this total "I wonder where he is?" moment. I had it the other day, too, when I passed by the shell of Wyatt's late at night. Did you know the place is still empty? It's totally stipped down to the floorboards, a total mess. I wonder if it's for rent? Maybe I could open my shop there. If I, like, get my act together.

I have an Anastasia Screamed ep somewhere. I can dropload it for you if you want. It's uneven, but there's a good song or two on there.

I hope Chick's doing well, wherever he is.

I'm listening to Joyce's song "Dozen" and damn, she gives good Exene. Plus it's a kick-ass song. Oh god, don't hate me for saying "kick-ass." Eek.

i'm actually not that crazy about anastasia screamed - scarce had a lot more energy and tension. but alas...

i'm not familiar with gemm - is it basically half.com/ebay just for music? it's quite bizarre - the same Anastasia lp is simultaneously selling for $11 and $277

Anastasia Screamed cut a tremendous version of "Marquee Moon" for WMBR, which was included on a double CD of live performances the station assembled. I used to place it on my mix tapes in college very frequently. I never knew anything else about them, though. Thank you for the information.

It is called Pipeline. Very excellent, aside from Anastasia Screamed, there's Lou Barlow playing "Skull" on an acoustic, and a rare Helium song.

Thanks for the link! How funny that Anastasia Screamed and Scarce are both on it. I guess it covers a span of a few years.

I love that Helium song. Oddly enough, I first heard of them through Chick, who recommended them to darling_effect The Dirt Merchants were good, too.

Have you heard Mary Timony's new album? I've been mixed on her last few, but she usually puts on good live shows.
