Your parents would actually probably approve of that too. You could just say that you think it will help enhance your "college experience" and help you to focus on school. The prices for dorms are actually pretty reasonable. It's $5155 for the year (9months) with a kitchen or $4129 without a kitchen and they have monthly payment plans too. You could manage it.
