CUMMING - Investigators say speed was a factor in a car crash that killed a Forsyth County teen Saturday evening.
Sheriff's Captain Frank Huggins said Bryan Richard Prevo, 17, Cumming, was killed on impact when the car driven by Zachery Lee Chandler, 17, Cumming, left Mathis Airport Road and overturned several times.
"According to witnesses the car topped a small hill, left the road and overturned," Huggins said. "This is a sports car, the top came off of it."
He added Prevo was wearing a seat belt.
"This is one of those rare circumstances where the victim, who was wearing a seat belt was killed."
Huggins said it is unclear if alcohol was involved.
Chandler is hospitalized at North Fulton Regional Hospital.
