Breaking the silence for a year in review, in list form, of course.

Since I've sworn off costuming and jewelry work until after the turn of the year (no matter how much I'm itching to fidget with the Angel gown on the dress form), I'm likely not going to finish anything else before December 31st. I don't think I made a public list of what I wanted to accomplish this year at last year's end and I'd probably only be ( Read more... )

arwen dream gown, arwen angel gown, maleficent, aragorn council velvet, arwen blood red gown, harry potter, pirate, lamia, a long expected party, secret costume, celeborn, ceredwyn, year in review

Thank you for the encouragement! My track record has not been great, but one of my New Year's resolutions will be to stick to my projects and try to get them completed faster. I just run out of steam, or interest, or something.

Thank you!

I do really look forward to that one as well and have been excited to start since I bought all that trim last year. The back of that skirt still perplexes me though.

Thank you!

YES! Celeborn actually stole some of my excitement for Lamia away. I've been practicing speaking his lines so I can get used to his deeply soothing, calm but stern elven voice. ;) He will be lots of fun, in a broody elf sort of way.

You've gotten a lot acomplished this year. You go girl!

This year was epic fail year for costumes. I don't think I made one single new one.

Well to be fair, most of it was "mostly done" already and just needing the final touches to mark them officially done. The pirate ensemble was all just collected, nothing made by me. And the only one I actually started this year is still not done. I vow to do better next year! This is really the first year I can say I've truly finished something, as in have a costume that I don't desire to do something else to. That's pretty bad after 5 years or so of calling myself a costumer.

Two woman costuming support group here we come! We will be costuming like mad in the new year!

We are Woman, See Us Sew! (and run and hike and...)

I must work on Celebrian and I must have a ball gown by Feb for a dance. Get out that rusty machete of yours.

Btw collected or not I heart the pirate outfit.

I must say, the pirate outfit is lots of fun to wear! I totally feel like a salty wench in it. ;) And Chris appreciates the. . .*ahem* reorganization of my figure in it. ;)

By the way, that's the corset/bodice combination I was mentioning that could be reaccessorized to be steampunk if I so desired (and I do!) Speaking of, I left that off my list!
