Feelings are funny things. No matter what the reality of the situation is, feelings always get in the way and fucks shit up, one way or another. Often I feel that the blessing of having deep feelings is also a curse. I suppose just like with anything worth having, it's a double edged sword

I know it's very hard right now but you just need to put on a brave face and look towards the future with Sara and the girls. The day will come when they are here and this long, shitty road you've had to travel in the interim will be worth it and soon forgotten. Anything worth having is worth fighting for - just make sure you remember that.

Are you sure you aren't having some birthday blues in addition to being bummed about not talking to/seeing Sara?

Yes, you - I swear sometimes you're more of a woman than all the women you know. :-) I've gone through the birthday blues every year since I turned 34. But you know what's great for the birthday blues? BACON!
