yeah, that's really jerky. it might be lighthearted at home in front of friends, but you wouldn't do something like that to someone in public unless you wanted to be mean... it's an immature way to draw a ridiculous amount of attention to them, and really, whoever does it ought to be the embarrassed one in the end.
